Yah thats the thing, there are a lot of really good used cars right now for good value with the prices falling. But its nice you at least have a reasonably priced new car that can actually hang with them somewhat. I am amazed with the interior of the 2010-11 Mustangs. When they add the myTouch screen in, wow.

A nice, well equipped, low mileage Z is still over 50K. A Mustang GT, if you don't go to crazy is mid 30's, with a full warranty. I will have the best of both worlds soon.

I absolutly love the new GT. It's amazing that Ford can get that level of performance and technology within that price range. The interior is actually pleasant.....would not mind adding one myself.

And that you are right about my friend, a 412 hp DD and a 505 hp beast makes a very powerful garage!

This GT is going to be a sales hit - the quality of the materials and workmanship is excellent and the bang for the buck is unequalled. There will be a ton of mods available from a wide variety of vendors and you will be able to customize the look so you don't see yourself coming down the road all day long too. Good to see Fords turnaround happen and that they are building cars that people want.

6speedRob is on a distinguished road
Considering picking one up for myself. Don't really need a 3rd car, but this thing is amazing.

Yah the new GT500's are very nice as well. 120lbs off the front end is veryyyy nice. I wonder how much weight can be taken off the 2011 GT? I would like one around 3200lbs lol, but thats not going to happen

It is definitely a decent performer. It is nice to see Ford back on top of the pony car race (for now). I can't wait to see Dodge's and Chevy's response.

Dodge has some new DNA (Ferrari, Alfa, Maserati, from Italy it can hopefully bring to some of its cars. The Viper is going to be replaced with something else but there are lots of rumors about the V10 continuing. Otherwise the oversized Dodges will have a hard time keeping up.

Z28 is the big news from Chevy but I don't think that is a GT fighter, more of a GT500 or GT350 fighter.

IMO.

I was picturing a Mustang GT, Camaro SS (or Camaro Z28), with a Dodge Charger SRT-10 lined up together.

Why not?

I thought one of the car mags already did a GT against an SS (the GT was quicker due to it being lighter for one) and few have already done the Charger SRT-8 but I don't think there will be a Charger SRT-10. Could be wrong about the SRT-10 but I would doubt it.

There was a show car built by Dodge with a Viper V-10 but no chance of it coming to production with the 392 Hemi ( 6.4 ) slated to show up in the SRT8 Challenger.

And Jasper its GT/SS/ R/T

And above that GT500/ Z/28 / SRT8

The Z is well past the 505 hp barrier. And I am sure I won't leave the GT alone either. But not too much since it will be a DD. Exhaust, intake, shifter, tune.
