Yes the live axle can be designed to turn.
Griggs mustang with a live axle turning 1.55 peak g's on dot tires. The stock zr1 also pulled 1.55 peak g's on dot tires.

Sounds like a tremendous amount of gravel on the road. Theres no way I could feel comfortable pushing the car like that if I kept hearing those sounds
