45k to spend 2007 z06 or 996 tt
At your price point, Z06 - no question.
Funny that the (old man and/or gold chain) stereotype about 'Corvettes' has now transcended to the Z06.
I guess that happens when you look at the Z06's tailpipes for too long.

well, it should be obvious about quality differences... when new, the turbo cost twice as much as the Z06. problem is you are paying the maintenance that reflects their original cost. mods are way cheaper for the Z06. if money is an issue, Z06. if not, get the prestige to go along with the fast.
very well said
I also used to see corvettes and vipers as the hillbilly lotto car
after getting out of a 750rwhp 996. Im actually in the market for a Z now. My car was flawless - as was Trplblks GT2. Ultimately though, its 10 years old. It felt like a 100k+ car that was 10 years old. In ways my 2012 mini cooper has a better interior.
driving characteristics are very different. They both oversteer, but the vette more predictably being essentially a midship design. Its lighter it shows all over the place. The ride in the 996's are nicer, but fewer tire and clutch options. The 996 can put power down easier, especially in rain - you can't make big mistakes in a powerful vette. It goes on and on.
The Z's get bashed a lot for being poor in interior quality and social stigma. This ties in to the "old man" syndrome with vettes too - When I was younger, I cared about that stuff - now im secure and older and just want a good car. Somebody will like and hate whatever car you're in. If you're flaunting, people will have an opinion.
Throw maintenance out the window - it will be stratospheric on both cars with or without warranty. Not much goes wrong with either car - but tires, brakes, gas and insurance will slaughter you.
