Well done lap. I love watching the competition between the Corvette and Viper teams. Makes for greater product for the consumer, we all win.

MPSC and Pirelli Corsa system are the same type of tire. The Corsa systems tread ware is a little higher but still the same type of tire.

Yes, just like the ones Porsche and Corvette uses, what is your point?

My point has nothing to do with car choice but the fact that the tires are shaved to 3/32 and have no business being labeled as "street tires".

I feel any lap time set with them, regardless of manufacturer, should have an asterisk beside them.

Im scca racing, we call this "rules creep" and some guidelines need to be established (since DOT has dropped the ball) or we will see people driving these tires on the road with zero thread.......in the rain because someone said they were "street tires".

I like sticky tires myself and drove a Mazda RX-2 with a billion horsepower on Yokohama A001-R tires for years in the 80s but with full tread.

It's gotten out of control as of late to the point of being ridiculous.

I always love seeing the back and forth between the two cars. IMHO the passion by the designers of the Viper, all the way up to Ralph, is why the car is so well received. Anyone can build a car, passion builds a great car!

I am glad you feel like you are the authority on tires because of your participation in SCCA and that the DOT seems to know less than you. These type of tires have been around for several years, owners with vehicles that run these type of tires tend to be enthusiast that are aware of tread wear ratings and proper maintenance. Not too many soccer moms running these tires on their mini vans - in my experience, of being an all knowing street racer.

Nice:

Default straight to ad hominem when you have nothing tangible to offer.

My experience with dot legal race tires goes back 30 years.

If you want to slight my experience level without actually knowing it, how about we compare yours to mine?

You've got nothing.

I like vettes, vipers, ford GTs, astons equally and work on all of them when called upon to do so.

I'm the six foot six guy so your ***** comment is probably incorrect.
