I would really like to quite my job and work in a tuning shop to learn more about engine building. But I think my skills wouldn't command more than about $10.00 /hour! I'm glad this new forum was opened to discuss American Engines. It should prove to be very interesting to follow.Regards, Mike
I'd stay away from the LS7 block...it's pretty much a sleeved LS2 and will not stand up to much boost. I would go for a c5r or c6r block and ls7 heads...9.0:1 compression and 12-16psi of boost. Should be good for 1000rwhp +/-. Then again, why not throw a ford gt block and 4v heads in the car, you would need about 16psi to make 1000rwhp, but wouldn't have to worry about reliability. The mod motors hold boost much better than any lsx motor.

I would speak to the guys at Wheel 2 Wheel. They produce some amazing results. They made 1250hp with a twin Rotrex supercharged Ls2. I wouldn't go with any other engine builder for an LSX with twin turbochargers/superchargers(other than NRE that is) Here is a link to their LSX twin supercharger package http://www.w2wpowertrain.com/pc-96-6...drive-kit.aspx
I should add that the twin supercharged LS2 drove coast to coast and was reliable, quiet and still turned in 9.25 sec 1/4 mile times at the dragstrip.

Ive never heard of a 500" SB. The largest Ive seen is 454 Ford. After so many inches the heads will be limited, even the best aftermarket heads. A BB has so many more choices for heads, and are capable of so much more flow.
Stay small and turbo that thing.

GMPP's new LSx block
500+ci iron block. 2000+hp. That should do the trick with a 100+mm turbo
There are a lot of guys building the LSX block to 511 inches and getting a lot of power out of it. If you are wanting to put a power adder on it go with the TT setup or a big single turbo setup.
What kind of vehicle are you putting this in?
And if you want a lot more help head over to LS1tech.com. They are very friendly over there, and they have a whole section on the forum dedicated to hybrid LSx vehicles. A lot of well educated individuals who know there pushrod motors!
