And this is through an Auto. He does have methanol on it, but Methanol is typically worth about 40-50rwhp at that power level, so call it a wash between the auto and the meth.

This link took about ten seconds to find.

Dare I say it again. A 346ci LSX motor can make 800+rwhp on pump gas.

Ah yes, always forget that.

You guys use PON I think, an average of MON & RON. So the equivalent to 98RON is around 95 in your money.

93PON would be roughly 95RON.

Cheers,
Nik

Methanol can actually make a very big difference. Methanol is not only much higher octane the regular 93 gasoline, it also increases power by lowering the temp of the intake charge allowing more timing and more boost.

Basically, methanol injection cools the intake chrage like nitrous while providing some of knock resistence of higher octane fuel.

Sure.

But seeing how I run methanol on my own supercharged 346ci LSX motor, and have extensive firsthand experience with it, my statement still stands. Besides, this is only one example.

Then i am sure you have more knowlege about this setup, what is keeping vipers from making much more HP with more displacement?

Cant help you there, I dont follow the viper aftermarket closely. Naturally, a larger motor will get to whatever goal you set with less boost, though.

The whole performance world was more or less built on small block chevys. There's no "turning" to them, they're the standard.

Maybe not the end-all be-all of performance, but they're certainly more commonly built than a 2JZ.

You got me there, but this thread delivered and the guy was a liar. I just couldn't see that story being true, so I was right with my no dice comment.

PS see my thread.

with water or methanol injection it could probably be done.........

it would fight the detonation and allow more boost with lower octane gas

i dont know a lot on the subject but i do know a few people running it in their turbo'd cars and it does the trick

My 454 Suburban dyno'd 840 RWTQ on 94 gasohol. RWH only came in at 440. This is with a small displacement Whipple, 12 lbs boost and water/Meth injection 60/40.

I think it would be possible to get some big number with the 3.3L whipple, straight meth injection and built heads using 91 octane.
