First Post! My Custom Twin Turbo C5 Z06 (almost done)

Hello -

I have been meaning to sign up/post on this forum for quite a while now. I have known Ryan for about a year, and actually have made a couple videos of me racing him in what use to be a heads/cam C5 Z06 (made 442rwhp, 410rwtq).

My car is still not 100% done (which is killing me seeing as summer is almost gone) and there is still quite a bit to be done. I need to get the clutch in (which is in the process), put the DTE rear brace on, and get a dyno tune. However, while installing the clutch a bit of wires were fried so I am afraid of what might have happened...oh well.

I am still stock bottom and rear end. I was not going to do this kit but could not pass up the opportunity from a small shop called CM Racing (lets just say you would be shocked how cheap it was overall….and no for now I am not telling the price). Originally I was going to build up the rear then bottom end and finally do FI. As you can see I went another route. I believe it to be one of very few custom made turbo kits for a Corvette, and one of the first to incorporate FMIC’s behind the Z06 screen openings.

For now, I will be running LEGITIMATE low PSI, about .3 bar which is right around 5psi. Granted the wastegate springs do not always give a 100% accurate PSI rating thus it could be another PSI or so.

I have high *** compression, and with my current [previous] upgrades I am damn near 11:1…haha. Again, that is why I am running low boost for now and if I blow the motor…well, another reason to upgrade next year.

I am essentially going to be maxing out the motor, fuel system, rear end, and transmission. On such low boost I still expect to be upper 500’s, low 600’s rwhp with power. Before the GT35R’s I was 442rwhp, 410rwtq, so I don’t think it’s out of the question to get the gains as I’ve stated. This setup with a built motor, however, is good for over 1,000rwhp

Without further adieu -

Hope you all enjoy! I will update you in the future to tell you when I finally get everything back together and a dyno tune. Honestly, probably not for another month at this rate

- Carleton

Hey Carleton , i remember pm'ing you and talking to you a couple years ago before i bought my S2000. I was going to buy a C5 Z but had no credit to finance a used car back then.

You were very helpful with all my questions. Your car has come a long way! I was actually looking at your site a few months ago.

Are you still at Pepperdine?

Hope all is well,

Josh.

Not bad... Front mount setups are the way to go.

But where is the radiator? You lay it down parallel to the ground under the turbos?

What's up Jamie? Ever get the FMIC done?

Turbomaxima - On stock block and about 4-5psi (Boost gauge shows four when I get on it) I am expecting upper 500rwhp, low 600rwhp...for now

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

That's definitly custom

That's definitly custom. Same concept as the c6 APS setup. Low boost without lowering the compression. Very cool!

Very sweet. Which heads and cam were you previously running on your LS6 (442/410)?

Thanks
