Beautiful car! Just needs more power

I had mine on farmers and they never gave me any trouble even though I got it at 23.

Just stay off the throttle in the turns till you get used to the car, that means 1st-3rd gear. The *** end comes out real quick if you're not careful.

It has 4500 miles, I found it on autotrader.com in TN. A lot of the cars I found had carfax issues and too many owners/dealers/auctions. This one had one owner for a few months then the 2nd owner since 2002 put just a few thousand miles on it. That's his house in the picture, he has a lot of cars so you can tell he'd take good care of it. I paid more than some I saw, but prefer a cleaner car with no issues. There are quite a few with REALLY low miles but I want to drive it so I don't want to pay a premium for a garage queen.

Wish I could drive it, still waiting for plates. Went to a cruise night on Saturday with a friend who has a 2002 red/white GTS ACR with 1,000 miles. Now that I have one maybe he'll drive his more!

Have fun!
Mike, thanks. Cheers!

Hey Congrats on the new car! I picked up a 04 SRT10 in TN Saturday before last and I'm in the Tri-State too. I have my Viper insured in CT with StateFarm and its about 1000/year (I'm 28 if you need a point of reference). Also I have a home policy with them so I added the auto.

I know exactly what you mean about the cars with 5 and six owners and shady records, there are SOOO many 04/05 SRT's out there but it took me a long time to find a clean low mileage 1 owner too. This car is a 04, but actually was not registered until 05, so its still under the 3/36 bumper to bumper .

Your car sounds like a true cream puff! Congrats again, and good luck with the insurance.

Wow, you got $1K/year in CT with State Farm? I'm a lot older than you with a perfect driving record and got a quote from State Farm for $1k... for 6 months! Having other coverage with them must have helped you. I ended up with a classic collector's policy with 3K miles/year max for about $1K, with stated value coverage of $55K which is a benefit.

Enjoy your new toy, I drove mine today for the first time as I was on vacation last week

I just checked and its closer to about 1300.00 but either way I know the home policy and past policies helped.

Where are you in CT? There are a few Viper gatherings on the horizon in the tri-state.

Also one of the best Viper Tech's out there is out side CT in South Salem, NY (Chuck Tator @ Tators Dodge). You should add him to your rolodex, he's a 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen wizard.

Cool, I am very close to there, in Danbury CT and my buddy with the 02 ACR is nearby too. Hope to see you at a Viper gathering.

Oh wow great. I'm going to PM you my email and other info so we'll get together. I'm up and down the Meritt a lot and I can hit 684 / 84 easily too so we'll get together in a few weeks or so.

Mike,

Not sure if you're still looking... I'm in Cali and use a company called Wawanesa though not sure if they cover East Coast. Insurance /year is about 1100 which I thought was pretty good. I did call other insurance companies but none of them want to insure my Viper... LOL... can't blame them!

Anyway, congrats on your new ride... love that bumble bee color!

Ive always used Haggerty for my exotic and gray market cars. Just remember to read the policy you choose with them, usually will say the car must be stored in doors. You can request that to be removed.

04 viper RT10 was $900/yr
97 Skyline GT-R was $1100/yr

I think I will have to cancel my classic policy as I found I really like to drive this car... I will exceed the mileage limitations and want to drive it to work on sunny days too.
I drove it about 90 minutes up to Woodstock NY yesterday and it rides much nicer than the Mini CooperS though it uses a bit more gas

I may have found another company that will insure all my cars and my home for much cheaper than I am paying now, including an umbrella policy and no collector car limits on the Viper... OneBeacon Insurance.

Thanks!

OneBeacon holds my current Insurance accord for my Business (building + equipment). So far so good with them.

Didn't know they do auto. Good to know, I will have to look into that.
