the same guy that predicted 450hp and the new 6060 tranny from the base ls3 vette 12months ago.
officially rated at 436 there has alread been a number of ls3's dyno 390+ at the wheels. this thread is 395rwhp with 12% drivetrain loss equals 454 crank horsepower. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=532418

edit: i should add that this will obviously not be the production tune. it does show the capabilities of the powertrain in near stock form. 550-580rwhp on the production car is my best guess.

 

Might be worhy of unloading my 600hp 911 turbo for....hmm.......

Since the new Z06 came out, I always want 1. This car will be a monster. I would take the Z06 over the Viper anyway, nevermind this ZR1.

 

That kind of power is begging for mid engine to put a bit more weight in the back, or a rear biased AWD system. Always hear rumors of mid-engine; wonder if Chevy will ever do it?

 

Haha Ive owned a couple Lambos, thats why I say it. The vette is just so cheaply made these days, and its really sad. Sure, fun beater car, but as far as quality, its strongly lacking.

 

snake == 600hp viper?? or snake == 750hp rustang?

either way there is no comparison, the Current Z06 with a tune and an exhaust will be enough for the Viper, the ZR-1 will be a moster, comparing just hp numbers dont tell us anything about performance and as for the rustang, there will never be a comparison, even if it 750hp, weighs too much and it will only be a straight line thing, no finesse in handling there..

 

Agree with you, but lambo's arent exactly on top of its game for quality too, if you owned anything before the M and G, they were the worst made cars and even the Gs and Ms have had issues which can be listed..

The Vette with a 25-35k jump in price would challenge Ferraris in build quality leave alone lambos..

 

I wonder if they will bolt on to a C5 like the C6 Z06 brakes do. I wouldnt mind a little carbon brake setup on my car....hell...i can't afford that crap, what am i thinking.
