Newbie question on swapping summer/winter tires

Feel like a idiot asking but i'd rather make sure i get his right than to not ask.

past 2 years, i brought my winter tires in and had the mechanic swap rubber on my stock rims. stock PS2's for pirelli sottozeros.

However, this past year i picked up some HRE's and therefore have a set of rims for summer and now use my stock rims with the sottozeros.

The winter tires are marked FR, FL, RR, RL (mechnanic must've done this when taking them off).

So my dumb question is as follows:
1. Is the Right Rear / Right Front considered the passenger side (ie the right side if you are behind the car)?
2. Should i put the RR/RF on the right (ie passenger side if the answer to question 1 is "yes") or so should I "rotate" them and put them on the left?

Appreciate answers to both questions and thanks for helping a dumbass out. lol

Agreed, have a look on the tire whether it says 'outside' or 'direction >'. With outside you can swap the left and right.

SottoZeros are not asymetric and directional, only asymetric. So they are NOT a left/right tire.

Just mount "Outside" facing out and you'll be fine.

thanks Damon.... before my post i accidently put the FL tire on the passenger front. that's when i noticed the other tires had markings (ie FR, FL, RL, RR).

I'll put the other front tire on the driver side and proceed to do the same with the Rears.
