Lexus has been lurking in the shadows performance wise. I think they're wising up to the other car makers and are soon going to be head to head with many of the well known performance vehicle makers. BMW, AUDI, PORSCHE etc. We shall see...

 

It's a supercharged V8. They are toying with the possibility of making an "F" version of the LS after the model change next year.

 

This would be a really interesting car. As said before in this thread Lexus really wants to be seen as a power player to the younger crowd. This would definitely be one hell of an interesting car. Esp if they outfitted it with a really great magnetorheological suspension (ha ha yes I went to Google for the spelling on that one!) that could make this a Jeckel and Hyde car.

 

640hp? I doubt it, they would never put a sedan into production with more HP than their LFA supercar. Maybe 460hp but definitely not 640hp.

 

If it's going to use a supercharged V8 from the IS-F, its going to be a heck of a lot more than 460hp. The IS-F engine alone, already makes 416hp without any type of forced induction.

 

that thing is sexy... i hope they make it here for the states.
