Please read, request re: Ben

First of all, thanks to all who have sent me their condolences. Ben and I were good friends, and of course now I wish we had been able to spend more time together. I kept putting off our next visit... Living 3000 miles away made us far apart but our daily emails made me feel close to him and his lovely wife and beautiful baby. Ben and I had some good times and I think we had a great mutual respect.

That said, I have a request. Ben's wife has asked me to collect and print all of the message board discussions about Ben, for the future, for their daughter.

If you know of other boards that have had discussions about Ben after this terrible event, please either post it here, or drop me an email (carrerascott@aol.com) with a link.

I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Once I've compiled all of this it might be nice to get it bound, perhaps in leather, or something nice. Maybe we'll take a collection to get it put together and make it a really special heirloom for Char and Parker to look at and remember just how special Ben was, and just how many people thought highly of him.

Thanks everyone.
Scott

Sorry again for the loss of such a good friend...
Take a look at the site I have created in his memory. This should be the perfect thing for you to print for Charlotte and Parker once everyone has added their comments. I put this page up only 1 hour ago and already over 50 comments in his honor. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do on this site for you or his familly.

Website in Memory of Ben K.

Thanks Evan. That will be great. But I want to try to get everything out there. So anyone who sees links please post or email -- I know there are a lot out there.

Scott,
Do you think it would be appropriate to set up some sort of donation and as a group think of something appropriate to send his wife and daughter, I have no idea what that might be but I sure as heck would chip in, just an idea. I am beyond saddened.

Not a bad idea, but I don't think his family will need any financial support at this time. Money won't bring him back, I think that our condolences and our kind words are worth more then anything to his family.

I agree, it was just some sort of additional gesture to go along with all of the online sentiments. Again, it was just an idea, I just wish I could do more than type about how cool Ben was and how much he will be missed.

I think that his wife and daughter should just know that one single man put behind us all of our differences and brought us united, each and everyone expressing this in his/her own way, and being affected in his/her own way.

Family, friends, people who just happen to be online the same forums, or people who just read a 4-line long summary of his life.

They MUST know that Benjamin Keaton made a PRESENCE in all our lives, even though MANY of us did not even meet or even see him. It takes a lot of character to become a person like that.

It's hard enough to make change, and he made change without even being here.

Allah yer7uma.
