Tires for a Southern Winter?

I'm a newer Porsche owner, and my 997TT DD will see her first "winter" in Atlanta, GA in a few months. Currently, I have a near-new set of Bridgestone RE050A rubber (not PP). Will these be fine for an Atlanta winter, or should I be looking at something else? I also want a set of PSS in the spring, but my tire budget will be spent if I need to buy a pair of Sport A/S for the cooler months.

If you get snow, ice, and/or temperatures consistently below about 35 degrees Fahrenheit and you plan to drive the car in those conditions, then winter tires will be a good investment. Otherwise, I would not bother.
