Manual Trans...first gear?

I love the car but how do you guys with higher than stock HP actually launch? I consider myself a decent driver but first gear is gone so fast it is a complete waste.

I love parts of having a 6 speed and I love my car but the more I take off from stop lights the more I dream of a PDK or Tiptronic trans.....keeping boost up and much quicker shifts.

Any tricks? Launching in 2nd?

997TTMeister is infamous around these parts
Launching in second will end your clutch quick.

The 'old man' hydraulic clutch set up, makes for a inconsistent experience which will make it hard to master.

As a lot of manual cars in this forum, a GT2 slave conversion matched with a Sachs stage 2.5 clutch, and maybe a SSK if not already fitted, will give you a consistent platform for you to practice, practice, practice. You want be as quick as a PDK, but you will have a strong platform & consistent experience.

Use the same technique as driving a 993 (or older 911s) where the clutch came up from the floor.

You basically use your ankle and not your knee or leg if that makes sense.
