That smell?
That smell?
Hey all....I have been noticing an awful/weird ammonia type fart smell bombing the cabin of my car when I drive aggressively on the highway. I know cats going bad smell like sulfur (rotten egg)...but this is more like burnt refried beans or something. Plus how could exhaust gases which are flowing rearward at highway speeds circulate back into the vehicle? If I recirculate the a/c then the smell goes away.
Anyone ever experience this? It is random, but annoying.

Clutch is brand new and installed by Porsche dealer, plus by aggressive I mean fast driving. I am not really doing anything where clutch would heat up (like launching etc). I also thought burning clutch smell was similar to a bad overheated brake pad smell. If they are similar on Porsche then it is definitely not the clutch.
I did suspect A/C components. What happens when an A/C condenser goes bad? Does it leak Freon or something? How could cabin filter create a smell? I thought it was meant for pollen and other particulates.
Thanks for looking and chiming in guys.

I had a very bad sulfur smell in my Lexus once (like rotten eggs.) It got really bad at stop lights during a hot day, especially with the windows down.
I tried higher octane gas, spark plugs, and even "rolling stops" to remedy this issue. Doubt its your cabin filter.
I don't have this with my 997 though. You likely have an exhaust leak or, your Catalytic converters have gone bad.
