Arrow Slipping clutch in 6th gear?

Purchased an 07 997 Turbo in early Nov. Car has 21k miles now and I've noticed that sometimes when I floor it in 6th gear at 60-70 mph that revs spin up 2-3k without any noticeable speed increase. So I pause and try again a few seconds later and pull no problem. This also appears to happen in 5th gear but not as often as it does in 6th. All other gears pull hard just fine.

The car is CPO'd and the previous owner claims to of had the slave cylinder replaced.

Any ideas?

replace clutch. carry on. flooring the car in low rpm in 5th and 6th gear is the easiest way to check for clutch thats on its last leg. repalce it with something a little sturdier like sachs 2.5 or ERP twin disc. the longer you drive it on slipping clutch the less chances you have of reusing your factory flywheel and having to replace it.

Had a similar issue with a CPO 997.1 I bot. After 4 weeks clutch started slipping. And if you are going to ask...it's not covered under CPO and the dealer will assume you did it. I tried fighting the odds and they offered me a 'labor discount' that was still terrible versus my Indy. Wear and tear item sadly. Good luck.

Slipping clutch needs to be replaced.

While normally a clutch is not covered under CPO (at least one just slipping) you might push for some goodwill and you might get it.

Argue that you have been driving a manual for X years and know how to drive a car equipped with a manual and a clutch (natch) and this slippage is due to the previous owner and the CPO check/inspection missing/overlooking the marginal clutch.

Depending upon your presentation, your relationship with the dealer, you might score some goodwill. Frankly unless you tell me you are a crap driver I think you are entitled to some goodwill. The dealer's cost to put this right is way less than what you would pay, so depending upon what goodwill you were given the dealer could break even on the job so do not worry about ruining the dealer's Christmas pressing for some goodwill.

Thanks for the responses! I'm looking for an independent in Pittsburgh as I write this. Will let you know who I found and how the repair goes. Cheers.
