Pdk sports plus mode

Hello,

When I put my pdk in sports plus mode my europipe sounds amazing. My question is... Can you drive around in sports plus often? The rpms are fairly high and I am under the impression that high rpms at long periods of time can hurt the motor and components.
Does anyone have any technical infomation in this?

Nevermiss is infamous around these parts
I rarely use the paddle shifters so most of the time I drive it in sport mode (also have EP). When I'm on the freeway or just want a more quite, sedan like ride, I take it out of sport mode. When I'm on the track, I drive it in sport plus.

Uh, you're driving in automatic? Sport will give you the same exhaust note, but sport plus gives you launch control, reduced traction control and faster shifts.

I fully understand what the OP is saying. The first 911tt I drove was a pdk. The dealer had Me in sport plus for part of the drive. The car was almost always over 4k Rpms it would just hold the high rpm in almost any gear. Coming from a low rpm V8 this made me nervous.

The sales rep told me Porsches are meant to be driven. The higher rpm is safe on the car. I know they were trying to sell the car but I also questioned the Saftey of driving like this for long periods of time.

The car sounds awesome in sport plus and I imagine with EP is wonderful but I would be switching to standard for fear of breaking the car

I'm in to hear from the more experienced Porsche owners on this subject. I have only had mine for 1yr (first porsche) and I have a 6speed so not much to reference on this other than my test drive at the dealer

I would not drive around in Sport Plus since it won't shift until redline. Track yes...street no. Driving around steadily at 6,000 rpm (particularly if the engine isn't warmed up properly) is the fastest way to cause engine failure.

EDIT: in automatic mode of course! V V V V

I think you need prefaces this with "only in automatic mode".
