997.1 Oil Change/Maintenance Schedule...?

just curious what the schedule is like with these cars. I'm picking up my 997.1 on Monday and it had it's last service at 30k. It will have about 35k on it when i get it home.

How often does the oil get changed on these cars? and what are the other big things that need to be done and when?

Thanks in advance.

I always like changing the oil when I get a used car so I have a baseline and know what oil is in there.

As for oil, I would do every 5k miles or 12 months , whichever comes first

Same here. Every 5k on gasoline, and every 3k on E85.

Just to give a slightly different response: I do 7500 miles or one year whichever comes first. The manual says 10K but that seems excessive (although I seem to recall reading a thread where a forum member tested the oil in a lab after 10K miles and it was fine). My car is stock in terms of tune and no track days so maybe those things make a difference.

At 35k you are are just shy of coil and plug maintenance. Oils should always be changed on a used car. I did engine, rear diff, center diff and manual transmission on mine. The aforementioned was all done at the dealer.

I changed out the fuel filter and air filter as my first DIY items.
