Steering Wheel Swap - PWIS Error Verification
Steering Wheel Swap - PWIS Error Verification
I recently replaced my steering wheel on my 997.1 TT with the updated Sport Design wheel. There are several threads on this and what folks has done to make the horn work. I had my shop program for a multifunction wheel and the horn did work; however, the issue now lies when the ignition is turned off, the horn beeps once. Brought it back for more troubleshooting including:
1. Program back to original (horn didnt work, and no horn beep)
2. Removing the airbag and program to multufunction wheel. (ignition off/horn beep). Not airbag related.
In my case, my situation is unique and havent seen others encounter my issue. What stumped my tech was this which looks like an error? This should show a part number?

Did you change the module? If not you may have to. I know some people say you don't have to with a manual but maybe you do in some cases. If your talking about a tip and you did do the module find someone else to do the programming.
I do have a manual. Why would it be different in some cases? The module is non returnable but the question lies why the part number isn't showing on the system and might be the issue with the horn beep. With or without the new airbag installed . I see where a module might be needed if it's TIP or horn doesn't work etc.
My horn beep when ignition is turned off is definitely new to most. Even Suncoast says they never heard of this issue before.

I was just referring to different model years. Specifically 09 and up since some of the electronics are different. Like I posted in another thread when mine was done it was beeping the horn and the tech kept playing with the programming and got it to stop. No idea what he did but he was really proficient with the piwis.

I figured out the issue. It's my Cobb tune. Reverted back to Stage 0 for emissions and horn beep disappeared. Need to get the car to ready mode for inspection then will try playing with different stages and/or get Cobb involved
