2002 M5 fuel leak

Hi,

New to the BMW side of this forum but I've found the Aston Martin side of things pretty helpful. Anyway I have a new to me 2002 M5. When you fill it to almost full \ full gas seems to leak from the fuel delivery hose at the connection to the tank \ fuel pump. This connection is some sort of snap down connector that clips on a nipple protruding from the plastic plate that gives access to the fuel pump inside the tank.

Anyway this leak seems to only occur when the gas is at the level of the fitting and the FUEL PUMP IS NOT RUNNING. So when you try and fill up the car some fuel leaks from the fitting but when you start it and the fitting and line become pressurized there is no leak and if you drive till slightly less that 3/4 tank there is also no leak when off.

This just sems strange to me. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Thanks in advance!!

Himilou
