I ordered a t-shirt and bike jersey from https://shop.astonmartinf1.com/]shop.astonmartinf1.com. The import charges and brokerage fees via UPS came out nearly the same price as what I had ordered! The order was $182.50, and UPS is adding on $125.68!
Just want to warn anyone who may be thinking of ordering. I would not have if I had known. Live and learn.

yes its a bummer if you knew how much i spent like this earlier, i slow down now...i only buy mostly from site who do add the vat even if you are outside, so no customs fees, almost doubling the purchase price on small item under 40e....you pay the same of vat taxes.....all you can rigg time

Tariffs are still in effect. I've been trying to limit the amount of stuff I buy online lately. Reduced velocity is bad for the economy but I just don't see the point in paying an extra 10, 25, or 30% tax on something I don't really need.
Your products were most likely made in China (30% tariff right now) or Mexico (25%).
You can use tariffcheck.org to get current tariff charges. And try not to buy anything online if the vendor doesn't list where it's made.
on a 20 e value product i paid 30 e of tax customs,its how it is, if i knew this i rather buy the oem part then....its all rigged, don t loose your time asking nobody knows , but you end up paying a bunch for what it is....customs alienating the best they can.....
Some vendors have started listing the tariff charges with the prices, so you at least know up front.
Most of the car manufacturers themselves don't even know what to do yet.
If astonmartinf1.com posted the tariff charges, no one from the US would ever order. They should have stock already here or a dedicated US site with revised prices.
The former owners of our local AM dealership use to do group orders from Aston Martin (any of the lifestyle things on their site) to save on shipping along with a slight discount.

I think the complaint is that there was no transparency that these charges were going to occur, which is a valid complaint. When you are buying something it should be clear what its going to cost you. Whether the web site (or whomever you are buying from) shows the reason for the costs is up to them.

Especially when the charge is substantial. We are not talking about an extra $10-15 when they know their customers are going to hit the roof when they see it.

I agree, i would like to know potential cost. If there is ponltential tariff and the business knows, they should at the very least notify the customer so they can determine if they would still like to proceed. I do have some international business interest and all the vendors give and estimate on tariff percentages, not doing so is just bad business practice.

I agree, if the vendor knows the amount of said duties, taxes, and tariffs, then said amount should be disclosed prior to purchase, just as Scuderia just did when I asked for a quote for a fellow member in the Bentley forum here on 6Speed, although Scuderia just gave a total of $255.00 for all duties, taxes and tariffs, I am sure one could ask them for a breakdown of individual fees if one requires.
That line about Freight Insurance annoys me. Why should I pay for someone elses liability? Once the courier has it, it is their responsibility not to damage it or lose it.
I get that there is probably a limit on coverage but it seems to get charged on even the smallest and cheapest of parts, even some rubber bungs I bought.
