Help with vantage sportshift

I have a 2008 vantage sportshift.

A while back it stopped moving in any direction and I realized the asm hoses had cracked so I swapped them out for new ones and all was good for about 6 months. Then out of nowhere the exact same symptoms I had happen when the hoses cracked, happened again. So I checked the fluid and it was not low, fluid was fine. I thought maybe the clutch had gone out, 34k miles but it really wasn’t showing signs of being bad other than a little shutter on cold starts. I tried unplugging the battery over night and also the clutch re-learn multiple times. Nothing. Eventually the battery died and I went to have it recharged. Battery was still good so I installed it back into the car. About 1-2 months had passed. Installed the battery and car turned right on. Also car moves fine now with no hesitation.
Any ideas what it could be? I’m afraid to drive it.

any help would be greatly appreciated

These cars are very sensitive to battery charge. If slightly low they may cause problems. All worked with a fully charged battery but if it get slightly low you may have problems. Maybe a new battery and check the charging system. Just a thought.

You should have the clutch values read to see the wear of the clutch. Your at the mercy of a computer and if it doesn't like what it sees, complete shutdown.

What warning message did you get on the dash? It happened to me a couple months ago in traffic. Turns out the clutch line was rubbing on another pipe and it created a tiny hole. Everytime I shifted a bit of fluid would squirt out until one day it lost enough pressure that the car wouldn't get in gear anymore. I go more in detail in my post here. Not sure that's the case for you though as I understand the car ended up moving eventually. Best of luck

I had no issues ever with ASM hoses, but until recently all my previous Vantages were under factory or timeless warranty. This year I changed to VelocityAP hoses on my 2011 V8 just as a precaution.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

pulled 2 codes from the last asm control module

p1734 - failure to disengage current gear
p186d - clutch does not open before gear shift

I cleared both of them with my scanner and they haven’t come back.
car feels fine.

could be battery, I guess it could be but never had any low battery symptoms prior to it happening.

hoses were changed and I’ve done this repair before on my other Aston without issues

I will have the clutch life checked via amds and will try properly bleeding the system. I was told there could possibly be air in the system.

also maybe the asm relay is going bad and over heating the pump.
I will check that as well.

not sure what else it could be. But for now all is good.

That is true, the clutch will stop working as you said as long as it has not been programmed out.
What I'm understanding. I'm pretty sure I got a really bad clutch,
But my car has not stopped working because I think the previous owner programmed off the clutch wear indicator shutdown
On the car's computer, or whenever you call it

AFAIK only Bamford Rose in Britain can (or at least provides that service) disable the clutch wear lockout...the car has to be at their shop to do it.
