I have a 2009 Vantage V8. Somebody rear-ended me and scratched my bumper. After taking it to the repair shop for almost 2 months they finally fixed my automobile and put a new skin on the rear end
Now when I picked up the car the convertible top does not work I get this error message on the convertible top and I also noticed it when I open and close the doors on the car the windows don't quickly go down a quarter inch for the convertible top like it normally does. I'm hoping that it's just a fuse or something that is screwed up. Any ideas would be helpful. I called the shop that repaired my car and they said to me well that's not our problem we didn't repair your convertible top.
Your roof won't operate when the windows haven't been calibrated. Easy to do. One at a time, run each of the front windows all the way down and hold the button for a couple of seconds. You should hear a "click". Then run it all the way up and hold the button for a couple of seconds. Then do the other window. If you're lucky, your roof will now work and the window will dip when you open the door.
You battery probably died when they were working on your car.
I would also think that there may be some position sensor for the roof or tonneau cover, a hit in the rear may have knocked it out of alignment, that's just my thinking though.
I must agree, that's some bs comment by the repair shop, it could be a sensor, or possibly that the shop let the vehicle sit during that two months without a tender, therefore the battery going dead and calibration lost, either way, the vehicle should have been returned in proper working order, just as it was before the rear end hit.
