07 V8 Vantage Interior Trunk Light

I just picked up an 07 V8V and am slowly learning more about the car. I've only driven it a few times in the last few months and currently use a battery tender with a 12V cigarette lighter style male plugged into the aux port in the trunk.
The owners manual says to just latch the trunk without closing it fully and all should be good but I've noticed the trunk light is still on - does this eventually turn off or is there another way to ensure the light doesn't stay on if the trunk lid is just latched for the battery tender and not fully closed?

I couldn't find a definitive answer in my search.
Below is an obligatory introduction photo! So far all I've done is change the wheels.

Thanks

found the answer.. it was in the owners manual all along but in another section related to the tailgate and not the battery conditioner, albeit related.

once you latch the tailgate gently all you need to do it lock the car using the remote and all the interior lights will turn off after a minute.
