WTB: Vantage, any info would help..PICS UP in link
EDIT: picked up the 08 roadster, pics on second page link..
Helping a family member get a new car in the next 2 months and really like the feel of this car. Looking at a new 07 or 08 Vantage V8 Sportshift Coupe or Roadster in Black on Black. We drove it out here in Ca at Bower in Santa Ana, and they treated us very well (Gary) however:
1. Any real issues with the car I should know about? (it will see about 6000 miles per year)
2. Any dealers that you recomend to see? (any state, any dealer is fine)
3. Any other info to help me out?
Thanks
matt

1. Surprisingly there havent been any major issues reported except maybe a faulty passenger side door lock. AM has been great about fixing issues from year to year and adding lots of little things from year to year.
2. I would advise sticking to california dealers, as I believe the emmisions requirements for this state are different, some car manufacters tweak the car to better fulfill requirements for passing a test in that state.
3. Sportshift has been praised and criticised, but for what it's worth, I've driven one and it's a great system. Try reading at AMOC.org for more info regarding the car.
Congrats!

AMV8 Black on Black on Black
Hi,
I own a black on black AMV8 with black wheels, and it has the sport shift gear box. having had both transmitions, the sport shift is great, really fun to drive.
I have had no mechanical issues, but i have had paint issues. Actually I had to get aston Martin to repaint some panels because the dealership had buffed the paint down to the primer. When you pick up the car, live with it for a week then check the paint, since dealerships wax the body up loads. So wait for it to burn off then look at the paint. You need to bare in mind that the paint on these cars are very thin. You will need to get the car detailed by a professional quite often to keep it nice (approx...$700).
I bought my car from Beverly hills aston Martin, the service was amazing, I booked an appointment....great service, will definitly give you best price. Speak to janelle Salehi...she is great.
Good luck.

I would buy used - there are so many 2007s with less than 1,000 miles on them and you can pick one up for 100K or less.
the minute you drive your new 07 off the lot its worth 95K-100K max.
Check out cars.com or ebay

Some people don't like buying used though, but if that doesn't bother you, you can save 25k-40k on a 05-07 respectively.
