I came across this article with pictures of the AM DBS. It is absolutely amazing. Hope you enjoy it, and I hope it's not a repost.

Not really sure that it should be compared with the 599. The 599 is just in a different league in terms of price and performance. I have a feeling this car will be drop-dead gorgeous in person eventhough I said before that it looks a little too similar to the DB9 (not a bad thing) but perhaps in person the differences will be more obvious and will make all the difference. I don't like that shift **** however, and the switchgear seems a litte gimmicky.

Ill agree with you on that, in the Super GT class the 599 is only matched by the SLR/722 both Super GT's. The DBS would be more of a Bentley GT Speed match, both similar price and performance (even the CLK63 Blackseries, yes it costs less, not as styled but on performance level maybe better). If the Aston made a new Vanquish S it could've been a 599 alternative (if it had the performance and the gearing issues fixed, more power of coarse,Prodrive just need to bring that a new version of the Flagship Vanquish S) esp since the 575 now evolved 599,was compared to the Vanquish S. The DBS is Gorgeous especially in that Pale Sky Blue/Silver colour.
Sometimes you need to put performance to the side and cherish the car for it's beauty and design. If i wanted to get a car for power, I would get the SLR mclaren or CL65 amg and save couple thousand in the process. If I want something rare and extremely expensive, I would go for the 599.
Aston's Dynamics boss Chris Porritt on the DBS in the latest issue of UK Top Gear mag:
"Is the DBS a DB9 Sport plus 30 percent? Kind of plus and minus, actually. Its rolling comfort is very impressive. It's a Luxury GT, that doesn't demand as much from the driver as the Vanquish..."
So going head to head with the 599 will be the job for the next Vanquish.
