that's why I didn't get the Maserati Turismo. You know that they will then come out with a GTS version to compete with this Aston.

Let the battle begin!

If it really did have 600 hp, it'd rain fire on the F430 Scuderia but I just can't see Aston really making a V12 powered Vantage. It'd just pull too many sales from the DB9 and DBS.

Still, it's a gorgeous car and I hope they build something like it, although they already built the Vantage N400 homologation special, but that's more of a race car than the GT3RS/Gallardo SL/ Scuderia will ever be.

600hp claim came from Mr. Bez himself. What a beast this thing is going to be.

Aston Martin doesn't need wing.

From the link to the pictures it looks like the wing is retractable like the Carrera GT. That's HOT!.

I actually like the wheels...The wing is retractable so no need to get all worked up over that. Assuming they put the Vantage on a weight saving diet with all that carbon fibre, one would expect it'll be able to post a better 0-60 time than 4 seconds, no?

uhhh...guys, GT3 is in BIG trouble here...if aston really does this, and does it well, A LOT of companies are going to have some pretty heavy breathing problems for a bit...this is really a curve-ball from left field!!!!!!

I agree. As much as think that the DBS should have had a more powerfull engine, I like seeing Aston come around. I would rather live in a world with Aston Martin doing financially well, than without.

^^Amen...

And btw, for those scud fans...sorry, no excuses for this one...if AM does this like its looking like they will, there wont be too much competition on the basis of speed...some of the agility is yet to be determined...but with 600 hp and weighing anything around 32-3400 lbs...this thing will set some records...

I guess aston is tired of loosing the shootouts and just being a GT. Looks like a nice move.

not really. it's priced above the DBS so you could get three GT3's for one of these. pretty ridiculous if you ask me, i would much rather have the sublime DBS.

the cheesy wheels and wing don't help either.

I HIGHLY doubt it will be over the price of a DBS...this is still a vantage...it may be 200k...but thats not far enough to NOT be considered a rival...this will be a bargain scuderia...with more than enough to surpass it.

"Billed as a concept, the car, revealed on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the opening of Aston's design center in Gaydon, is likely to find its way into production next year as a limited-edition model priced above the flagship DBS."

that's a direct quote from the article. time will tell if it rings true. in any event, 200K is still 2X the price of a GT3. price wise this thing would be in the GT2 league, not GT3.

Well see about the pricing, but Im talking about the performance "car" from each company really...I did say gt3, but that more entails the rs and the gt2 to follow...This car will be able to outperform them all if aston does this right. Im not saying gt3 owners based on price will lose sleep...but porsche, as a company, as well as ferrari and other high end performance companies may have a new benchmark...and under 400k...thats something thats bothersome for most of those companies...plus, this could provide interesting in motorsports if they make a vantage to replace the db9...but I doubt that for other reasons...
