HZ - my 2007 has armrest storage in the doors - strange yours does not ???? or are you talking about in the middle - cup holders - they moved them forward from 2007 position. I think that might be in the way of shifting but I have not driven the 2008 ...

Michael, I have the door pocket storage as well, I was speaking of the center console arm rest, I find that the door pocket and glove box are a little undersized, a center console to hold extra keys, cell phone etc. are just what the car needed

HZ - so the 2008 actually opens up in the center ? That is a nice feature ... I tried to open it up in the show room and nothing happened ... so I figured it was the cup holders moved forward ... I must have missed the button or something ...

oops I might be confusing myself and everyone else. I was going by the picture in this thread which looks like a proper center console with storage was added, I could be wrong sorry if I mislead

Yes the center console opens up for storage. Also, the ipod connector and USB connectors are inside the center storage compartment

i am just ordering my 09 amv8: replacing 03 turbo. How does the piano black fascia hold up: does it show any microscratches/swirls in the sunlight with time? I had a black fascia on my E46 m3 that did not wear well. Great looking car of yours.

It IS rather glossy. So can pick up scratches if not cared for properly. I would think using the "swiffer" dust absorber (used in household cleaning) would do a safe job. Otherwise, using a soft microfiber cloth with little to no force may be ok as well (force may trap some abrasive particles that can drag on the fascia when wiping and cause swirl/scratches
