Vantage Navigation Question-DVD based?

Is the navigation in the Vantage DVD or hard drive based? If DVD, how many DVD's does the car come with? Do you have to purchase your region like on the Porsche 996's? Are the DVD's made by Navteq?

Thanks,
Adam

Michael 996TT will become famous soon enough
I think your question should be directed to a dealer - might depend on year - 2009 are supposed to be a better/new GPS system. My 2007 is pre poaded but can be changed (it covers NA - DVD) - I personally would have said no but was already optioned in the car. The stock Nav system is not that user friendly - also screen is hard to read in daylight - then again I am not familiar w/ P-car system to compair. Aftermarket systems are much better - program at home, move from car to car including trips w/ a rental. The 2005-2007 AM system is simply not good - again I am not sure about 2008 and have read it is new for 2009. Sorry just some info that does not fully answer the question ... you want a great GPS system that happens to come w/ a car - buy a Lexis/Toyota - they are very good.

Thanks. I just purchased a 2007 fully loaded w/navigation. I take delivery tomorrow. The car is being shipped from Denver and I live in Chicago. I rarely use the navigation but was more curious if I would have to purchase a new DVD or if the car comes with the entire U.S. My Porsche only came with my region but then again it was CD based an a 2001 model year.

Moogle is on a distinguished road
MY09 is a hard drive based with a slightly updated interface and is much faster.
All previous models have a DVD based version - regional. The system is based on Volvo, so yes, it's all Navteq maps.
