Keyfob-What is the little slider button for?

I have a silly question. What is the little slider button for at the butt end of the keyfob? I could not find it in the owner's manual.

Below is a pic I took with my phone. It is the button that slides under the red button, which I don;t know what that does either.

Thanks,
Adam

I've wondered about this too. My best guess is that when the remote was used/ designed by Volvo as a "keyless go" remote, they had a spare key in the remote itself... to manually open the door if the remote fails. There would be no need for this with the Aston, so they removed this feature, but didn't go the expense of making a new case for the remote. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Perhaps there is a Volvo owner out there who can shed some light on this?
