Burnt oil smell when stopping.

Guys,

Since the return of my V8V from Bellevue Aston, today I had he chance to take it out on a 60 mile run. Now, as soon as I stopped at a stop sign, the cabin filled up with burnt oil smell... something you would smell if you followed an old jalopy. But I had no car in front of me. Same smell came back when I parked the car in my garage. Wonder if there's any oil left by the mechanic and it's burning off? No leaks at all, I have white towels underneath the car.

Why was it in for service? What work was performed?

I had the same issue. Oil leak. They fixed the seal. Big job. Afterwards, I too smelled oil for about 500 miles. Then it dissapeared. All is well now.

I also had a funky smell - like a new engine system burning itself in - after Power Kit was installed ... went away after about a week. No issues or leaks during or afterwards - just the smell.

Kamran - If you have the oil leak that most folks are talking about here - it has an AM warrenty fix, not a "recall" but a service notice as not all cars have the issue. Yes, you will have a noticable puddle on your garage floor from front of car. In my case no leak from new to about 2k miles then a puddle about 4" in diameter. Cleaned it up, car sat for awhile (no puddle) drove the car one day for 50-100 miles and next morning a puddle again. Called dealer & they said they have a very good idea what it could be, fixed, no issues since (10k mi + on car).
