I am having the same debate in my head, and have found a 2005 DB9. This would be my first AM.
Is the 2006 year for the AM that much different as far as gadget upgrades? That could swing me towards the Vantage.

Haven't had the pleasure of a drive yet? Reading the upgrades and specs I would guess a racer. Its really hard to classify a car a racer with all those amenities : )

I understand you own one and love it, but agreeing to disagree is the only way. Some will agree with you and some will agree with me: the DBS is not a hard core sports car. The lines these days are blurred b/c many cars are quite good to excellent at many things. Every vehicle, whether built for street/track or both has some degree of compromise. Some are tilted more one way, GT3RS or GT-R Spec V or Lotus comes to mind quickly. Some go the other, but it doesn't mean they can't find their way around a track OK.

So I owned both cars and agree with most of the comments. For me, it comes down to torque. The DB9 has gobs of it the Vantage, not so much. The DB9 feels like it has more torque than it actually does and the Vantage feels like it has less.

I owned an 07 and now an 09 Vantage. The 09 feels like it has pretty much the same as the 07 DB9 I had driven for a couple of weeks.
