door will not unlock!

Went in to get a pack of gum at gas station and left my date in the car while it was running, she locks the doors . Next thing I know I come back to the car she hits unlock and it doesn't work???? WTF talk about embarrassing! she pulls the latch to open and thankfully that works. So I proceed to check if it really is malfunctioning so I turn off the car lock the doors and hit unlock and it works fine???? what gives??????

Check the manual - as I recall there was a button to push that allows internal/external locking but not w/ a key fob - and a way to dismantle this procedure. Kinda strange but standard on the Vantage ... something about so you do not unintentially unlock the door ... you use the handle to open when in the car.
Sorry - I do recall my dealer telling me about this but not all the deatails ...

Does it have the high spec alarm? There's a button on the left of the dash that's only visible when you open the driver side door that you press to allow an occupant to stay in the car and not arm the alarm; otherwise, the alarm will arm itself after so many seconds and you have to use the fob to unlock the door.

At least that's what happens in the '09 DB9. If that's not it, I have no idea.
