DB9 On Lift + More

I said I'd post some shots of my new (to me) DB9 Volante once I figured out how to safely lift it. So here goes. Do enjoy! (I hope).

Sweet car. Enjoy. How do you like the 2 post lift? Just curious why you chose the 2 post vs the 4 post??? I may get one as it seems to save some space.

Well, the biggest factor for me is having the wheels free. And it is less intrusive space wise. But if I had to so it all over again I'd probably get an asymmetric lift or one where both columns are turned at an angle. It would make getting the arms under the car a lot simpler proposition. With my lift, you have to have the car pretty much perfectly centered fore and aft so that when you swing the arms in, they clear the tires. If you have a short wheelbase car, that becomes impossible. You end up having to drive the car forward, swing the forward arms inwards, then back up the car so that you can swing the rear arms inwards.

The angled post lifts have both arms to one side, so you don't have to have the car perfectly centered. As long as you can clear ther rear tires with the rear arms, the fronts are a piece of cake.

Probably more than what you wanted to hear...
