iPod 2007 Vantage option
It works great.
I had it installed last month by Walnut Creek Customs. It's a great way to intergrate an Ipod into a pre08 vantage. It allows you to see and control the ipod via the nav screen and a remote while the ipod is hidden in the glove box. They installed 2 switches: one for the nav screen and the other for the audio part. I'll try to post some pictures

Very interested to learn more about this. Do you have to have the NAV screen opened to use the iPod controls, etc.?
Finally got around to post some pictures.
As you can see I had 2 switches put in the ashtray. One is for audio and the other is for video cut-in. The ipod stays in the glovebox but you need to have the nav screen open if you want to search/control songs. I typically use it to get a playlist going and then turn the nav screen off. Also you might notice they had to put the IR remote on the dash.
Sound is better then CD quality since it's a direct feeds into the amp.
worth the money ($1800)

Do you have the upgraded audio option on your AM? I can't imagine the crapy DAC in the iPod would sound better than the one in the Alpine CD player (which I think sound really good btw). I could be wrong though. Anyone who has used any decent DAC with their computer (or with an iPod through a Wadia I70 transport) knows the internal iPod DAC sounds terrible in comparison.
I'm trying to get a NAV TV module installed in my recently acquired 07 V8 Vantage, and noticed this thread. The goal is to get the Parrot system interfaced into the V8's audio system via the NAV TV module.
The installers are having a heck of a hard time getting the NAV TV module to work in the V8. My V8 has the Premium Audio system (no navigation).
The module works if the audio system is kept in CD mode. The module fails when the V8's audio system is switched to radio and the car then turned off. When the car is turned back on the NAV TV module fails and with it the car's audio system and environment system (a.c.) fails as well, as apparently controls for audio and a.c. go through the fiber optics.
Installers can only get the NAV TV module to work again if they toggle power to the module a few times. So the failure is inconsistent.
They've tried two modules on the theory the first was a bad module. Both behave the same way.
How did your Walnut Creek installer get this to work? My installers are ready to throw in the towel on their attempts, but I really would like to get bluetooth and Ipod working with the V8.
Any advice is appreciated.
