Leather shrinkage on Vantage dashes
#16
I currently have the upper passenger panel on order due to leather shrinkage; covered under warranty but still annoying as you have to wait 4-6 weeks for the part to arrive.
I was told that a good way to protect against leather shrinkage is to consider adding a light tint to the front winshield. Either that or being good about conditioning the leather with something like leatherique can also prevent shrinkage.
I am not sure that putting up a visor while the car is parked will solve the problem completely (although it will help); my car has been garaged for its entire life and taken out on nice summer days and there is still leather shrinkage. The angle of the front windshield is such that it acts as a magnifying glass on the leather dash while you drive.
