61k. Knocked 4k off the list.

Seems like a pretty good deal compared to other cars available at that time. It had 25,900 miles on it when I picked it up. Sure it's high mileage by AM standards, but it's nothing compared to most of the cars on the road. Plus I know the car was driven and have no issues.

That is a good deal. How many miles have you put on since? Any issues?

I am looking at an 06 with 23k. Have been concerned with the high mileage....

I'm coming up to 28300 now. Issues...... O2 Sensor, but that's common.

The car threw a few errors early on when I just got it, but now drives much better. Cars are designed to be driven. Keeps all the internal parts working much better.

Agreed on driving them being a good thing! My concern was that the 06 was already off warranty and hiden fixes cound get costly. Owner has had the two recalls and many preventitive things (leather dash, etc) taken care of during the warranty.

Did you end up getting the extended warranty?

no, since not much is covered.

With the AM warranty you're basically pre-paying dealer rates counting on something breaking. I've decided to let local shops do the work, so I doubt it'd be too expensive.

Still not thrilled the local AM dealer swirled my paint with improper use of the rotary buffer.

When I bought my 997 cab in late 2008, there were none under 80k. I am in shock.

Amazing car for that money...

I wouldn't worry about the "high" mileage assuming the car has been maintained well. I'm at 22,000+ miles on my '06 and just recently did an annual service for $1900 plus rear brakes, rotors, sensors etc. for another $1900. If your car hasn't been recently serviced you may want to negotiate based upon these costs.

High mileage on a 4 year old car is 60,000+ miles.

You spent all this money on a car, drive it.

Thanks Curtis-it has had all scheduled service with the exception of the most recent annual service. All work was done at authorized dealer with stamps, but the car has had light rear end damage (repaired by authorized AM dealer). Not sure how much the new bumper/decklid would affect the value now

Well I'm quite happy to be posting in this thread. The AMV8 is definitely on my short list right now for the next car this season.

Everyone's still holding up? Any great difference to get an 07 over the 06? I noticed the seats look a bit more refined on the 07's.

The seats are different for the '07. Also, they added LEDs to the door handles in '07. The attached document describes all new standard and optional equipment for the '07s.
