The car is going through some final dyno tuning and supposedly is going to be shipped up today. I will say that ESX has been VERY thorough and has gone to great lengths to make sure everything is working perfectly. Here are a couple of teaser pics.

The car looks great Tahoe and even better once the HRE's get on. I would take the "super" off though. Keep it a surprise until you go rocketing by someone. Keep us posted.

That's a great project...definitely keep us posted on numbers. I wandered over here from the Porsche section and got so stoked when I saw this thread. Good luck!

I don't have a boost gauge on but I have been told it is running right around 7 psi.

I'm planning on doing some videos once I get the new wheels/tires on and have the final tuning completed.

Any news on the wheels yet? Any new driving impressions? Haven't heard any updates. Have you had a chance to run your car against some of those other cars that you mentioned earlier? Updates please.

Nothing new really...still waiting on the wheels...you can read about the wheels saga in the HRE post. After more than 2 months I'm getting very close to cutting my losses with them as they have delayed delivery ANOTHER 2 wks (minimum) as of yesterday. I'm shopping around and trying to find a comparable replacement wheel so I can cancel my order and get my money back from them.

I've been putting off running it against other cars until I get the new wheels/tires on since it is definitely traction-limited at this point. This was something I anticipated, of course, and that's why I went to great lengths to ensure the wheels would be ready before the engine work was completed...they were supposed to be ready in October. Unfortunately, since HRE has yet to get the wheels to me, there's nothing I can do. On top of it, I will be moving the car back to Florida in 2 wks, so my opportunity to run it up against those other cars here in town will have passed, so I will have to make other arrangements.

Overall the car is great, though. I'm going to have a final tune on Monday at which point the full power will be opened up and it will be able to run to redline...should take me to over 600 hp at the flywheel.

Sorry to hear that. It will never cease to amaze me that in a rough economy, companies don't step up their game. It's one thing to suck when your phone is wringing off the hook but if it's rough out there, you need to double your efforts to keep your reputation strong. I know that I have begun to look at other wheels for my car. There are a lot of forged wheels out there that will look great on your car and present the weight savings. Having said that, explain this "final tune" to me. Do you need to send your car back to ESX? Is there a break-in period then an increase in HP? I thought that they used the programming from Paramount. Is there a different flash for SC cars? At 600HP, that car is going to be insane. I have been trying to be patient with RSC/Paramount so that I have a comparison but they seem to be stuck in the mud. I have a sports shift and right now, they are unable to SC cars with my transmission. I know that ESX has already done a SS car so I know I can send the car to them in the spring if there is no other option. Anyway, if I were you I would begin the process of getting different wheels. At least get a time frame, that way you won't have to wait 8 more weeks. I can't imaging having that car without the ability to let it free. Good luck.

Hi Jay. Just for the sake of clarity - the RSC/Paramount supercharger uses its own unique software. This is totally different to the either of the ECU programs for normally aspirated cars. In order to achieve full control of cams/timing/ignition etc. necessary for the supercharger to work properly you cannot utilise the standard ECU alone. The program we use for the supercharged cars is totally unique and was written onto a secondary ECU from the ground up to provide a very precise level of control over engine functions.

I'm not sure what you mean by stuck in the mud - I'm assuming you don't mean it in a nasty way. The situation with a SS car is that we haven't supercharged one yet. Since there is interaction between the SS and the Engine functions during shifting, we don't simply want to assume that it will be fine and find out that further mapping is needed for a SS. We're not the sort of guys who would just say 'yes' and hope it works fine. That said, it is possible that there will be no problems whatsoever. We just don't know yet, and we want to do the first one in the UK where we can change the mapping if we need to. Until such time as we have a customer in the UK with a SS car we can't give you a definitive answer. So we're not really stuck in the mud, just trying to be 100% before we commit.

Yeah as of yesterday I have begun the process of switching to another wheel...I've basically lost faith in HRE's ability to deliver.

As for the tuning, ESX is flying their chief tuner up to me to make some adjustments in the mapping to suit my personal driving preferences, and also to fix the issue of the throttle cutting out at 6250 rpm. It was part of their planned tuning on this car but I don't like it and it can be fixed easily since it's due to the throttle flap closing to limit power. I have to say that ESX has been absolutely EXCELLENT to deal with and has gone out of their way to handle everything I have asked from them.

I took the car out for a bit last night and it was awesome. I'm getting a feel for how to keep it on boost to maximize the power. Once the top end is opened up and the wheels/tires are on it's going to be insane.

On a side note, I highly recommend the H&R springs, also, if you haven't done that yet...they made a huge difference in the handling and tossability of the car while improving the harshness that is on the stock cars. Makes the car feel much lighter on its feet. It's similar to the stock sport suspension but feels even more buttoned down. I got them pretty cheap from Tire Rack although I know other places carry them.
