Whatever the case, it's hard to imagine the trap speeds would be off by 7mph, especially since, if anything the car tested should be faster because of the lighter weight. Not saying one set of data is right or wrong, but perhaps it falls within the range of driver and engine variability.

How does your Vantage do? I'd be excited to see some data on your car...not many Vantage owners in my area.
but either way, i think you'll be happy. they're both exceptional cars.
and to the pissing match (haha) displacement is a factor, yes, but so is the manner in which the engines are built. the Turbos will have a natural advantage in that they are designed from the factory to handle forced induction. i haven't really heard of any AM engine failures from being supercharged, but i'd be curious to know what the weak point is (pistons, rods, flux capacitors, etc). if there isn't one, well that's all the better.
Oh come on, that makes no sense. OK to counter that, your Porsche also has a naturally-aspirated version of your engine, yours 'only' has a flat 6 whereas mine has a V8, yours 'only' has a displacement of 3.6L whereas mine is 4.3 (20% more), mine is making that power with 'only' 6.5psi whereas yours is running much higher and as a result your engine is under much more stress, and mine has a much better layout with a front-mid engine rather than the ***-backwards Porsche design of hanging the engine behind the rear axle. Better now?
And by the way, there are kits for the Vantage that will take it to 1000hp, so I guess your were wrong about the car not even being able to handle 600hp.
As for the clutch, I did replace that. A lot of the drive train components are shared across the DB9/DBS line, where they handle much more power. And as for the "shacky chassis"...I think you mean shaky, but that's silly because this car has one of the most rigid structures in all of the automotive world. Remember, this car runs in races all over the world in the professional circuit with minor modifications, so I think it will do just fine. I only changed the springs and it gave the car a more compliant ride but improved the handling significantly. Remember, the 997TT is NOT a good track car...it was panned by almost every magazine as being unfit for the track. They much preferred the GT3 which was also faster and a better driving experience, although both were much slower than the Z06.
Whatever the case, there's ALWAYS someone out there faster than you.

Did you read the posts leading up to this one?
Not to put fuel on this fire...I'm just posting this for informational purposes. This is a video rmrmd posted previously of a speedo comparison between his supercharged Vantage and a 997TT with GIAC 7000 rpm chip, tiptronic software, and exhaust.

I really tried to get them off to an even start. The Vantage digital readout is sluggish compared to the Porsche but both hit 130mph on the analog dial at the same time!
Please tell me you didn't race and video record your speedometer on the street. You'd have a much more accurate and safe run with a GPS datalogger. For the cost of modifying $100K+ cars, a minimal investment of $500 would be worth your while.

Of course not, I gps datalog with AX22. The speedo videos are more fun to look at imho!
