Need help in deciding
Need help in deciding
Hi,
I was going through the AM board on 6speed and wanted to ask a few questions about the DBS , as I am in the market for the DBS . I wanted to know a few things from DBS owners, to be sure of the DBS, as I am also considering the V12V. I'll put it down in a number of questions :
1 - What is the ground clearance like? Does it scrape on slopes, inclines and speed bumps? As it has a bit of an overhang and with the aerokit, it looks very low, but I haven't seen it in person. I will be checking it out soon when I head out to England, but wanted to get some preliminary info.
2 - Does it feel cumbersome to drive or does it feel 'heavy'?
3 - Any reliability issues faced?
I posted the same on AMOC, but did not get a response. Hope to hear from owners soon.

The V12V is not available in the U.S. due to crash test standards therefore you might be better off posting your questions on pistonheads.com where more people have experienced the cars in question. I have never driven a DBS but I hope to own one someday. It is a very unique looking an sounding car! For the record, I have no clearance issues or reliability issues on my V8V.

It's low but you can still clear most entrances as long as you don't try to jump a curb obv. I drove one down in miami on the 95 for a few miles and the steering didn't feel as heavy as I thought. Haven't heard of any reliabitlity issues from anyone at my local AM dealer in Long Island. Found a few DBS's for sale you might want to check out. Good Luck! Aston Martin DBS for Sale
1. The front splitter will scrape on steep driveways or deep gutters but can be easily avoided if you angle in and out as appropriate and go slow. After the first touch or two, you will know when and where to be careful. Not a big problem.
2. Not heavy, very easy to drive.
3. No reliability issues on mine, I have had it for just over a year or so. That being said, it is my #3 car and not a dailey driver. I think there are better choices if this car is to be used often. If you are over 6' tall or 200lbs. the driving position will be tight for you.
Good luck. Great car.

Thanks for your help guys! I just pulled a trigger on the Lightning Silver DBS 6sp!
I will be careful on speed bumps and steep driveways for sure. Since my daily is the M3 and this would be slightly less used car , I won't be facing too many issues (not that the DBS has any). Since I am 5'7 , I fit easily in all cars. =)
