Vantage Owner's Poll -- Supercharging
Thanks for the info Tahoe. I was hoping to approach ESX as a group of potential buyers, but I suppose it's good to have a new number to work from.
To those still interested in an install, from ESX, RSC, or another company, we have managed to close the gap considerably between asking price and desired price. It is my hope that we can operate as a cohesive group to see if we can get closer still to our original desired price point. As we have already seen, a large block of buyers reeady to purchase is a powerful thing.
My thought is that we can all discuss options together via email. If you haven't already contacted me, please do so that we can work on this together. And, for what it's worth, I'm not trying to control the process and I have no personal agendas. I'm just trying to organize the concerted effort. Thanks.

OK I touched base with Ali at ESX on this to see what he can do, and he sent me the response below. One thing to keep in mind is that these kits are available now. I have nothing negative to say about Stuart and RSC...they are a stand-up company from what I have seen and they make quality products. I think both kits can coexist as they both have their own advantages. I chose to go with the ESX kit because of the results I've seen and the availability and I'm extremely happy with how my car turned out. They have also had 16 cars out there with thousands of test miles to this point with no engine failures. Keep in mind that the price below is for the kit without installation.
"Hey Mark,
Thanks for the info. After consideration and some number crunching this is what we can do.
Currently we have built 16 ESX Super Vantages. There are at least 4 on the East Coast currently. As you can see with your own personal Super Vantage, they can easily make 500+ wheel horsepower and 600 engine horsepower. I am still unaware of any other company that offers a supercharger system for a Vantage in the US. I know RSC if offering them but I have yet to see one in person or speak to someone who has purchased one in Europe.
If your friends online are interested in a group buy of at least 10 ESX Super Vantage supercharger systems, we can supply the parts in our kit for $17,995. That would be with a harmonic balancer core charge of $350. Once they have installed the system they could simply mail us back their old harmonic balancers, or pay $350.
Please note that these kits are not an easy install. Each one needs to be installed with an expert mechanic, whom preferably has significant Aston Martin experience. Each kit needs to have custom installation and tuning. There's only two companies I can think of that can do this install, one is us here in Los Angeles and the other is National Speed in North Carolina. National Speed has had significant experience with them. Obviously we are here to help them via email and telephone, but it really takes a great mechanic to work with the Astons.
Please let me know if you have interest. The systems would need 3 weeks to build and at least a 50% deposit and 50% due upon shipment.
Thanks again and I hope you enjoy your Super Vantage.
Ali"

We are currently working with Ali at ESX Motorsports to get the paper work done, making National Speed the official east coast supplier and installer of the ESX supercharger system.
Of course, we're all very excited about this. We look forward to getting even more Aston Martin Super Vantages through these doors and on the streets and race tracks alike.
I Just cast my YES vote. I have been talking to different tuners for over a year now about everything from a SC to a custom TT set up and even direct port nitrous.. A kit for 15k installed would be ideal, I would drop my car off tomorrow! I figured if I waited long enough someone would be able to do it. At $20k I'm less excited but would still love to talk to Stuart and Ali about there kits.. Since I live in AZ a intercooler is a must..
It seems like were only few grand away from making a lot of Vantage owners very happy any other ideas??

my issue is for that money i can have a turbo kit built and to my specs, i am sure sticker shock is the killer for me when i come from a world of 4-5k kits. the compound setup on my shelby only cost me 6k. although you can argue that there are more shelby mustang than amv8's it is not a whole let and even less going that crazy with modding them like this.
guys i think this is a great discussion on modding high end cars. i own a bmw m6 and i have thought about either a tt or sc kit on the car but i just cant get over the insane numbers that these kits cost on cars like this. Gpower makes one and the kit can run north of 40k!! I also know that the tt kits from under ground racing and heffner for the gallardo are in the 60k area. Now i work very close with a business partner that owns a race shop and i know allot about cars and the way i see it a turbo is a turbo, same with piping, same with an intercooler, same with waste gates, ecu and all other necessary parts. With high end cars you want to use the best of the best but i dont see how the price gap is so much, i did a turbo installed on a 350z a while back for 7500!! Now the material that the parts are made out of doesnt really change but the quality of the parts are better, quality of welds, and lower production numbers. But the math doesnt add up, lets say my z kit was 4500, lets even triple that you should still be able to have something done for under 20k installed how does a lambo kit get to 60??
Garret gt35r's $1300 each(one of the best turbo's out there)
intercooler
airintake, all plumbing, wastegates, tuning of some sort where is the big chunk?!!?

and that is my argument as well except i am a turbonetics guy. the material is not too much, you just pay for the shop name and work. this stock motor should be able to have a properly sized turbo put on it running 6-8 lbs with zero problem however when you start throwing up larger boost numbers then internals are always questionable which is where i believe the high end cars get expensive.
edit: from what i have read the big obstacle is the ecu which in my mind can be handled with a stand alone like big stuff.

my first endeavor into anything turbo was through hellion turbo systems which is a product from john urist. since my first kit with him i have decided that i will stay with him until i stop driving..lol..
edit: sorry for the derail op! and i know there are some active members for the sc kit because i had a pm inviting me to the gb but my heart is set in another direction however thanks for the invitation.
