hey guys

the clock on my v8 vantage was the victim of my iphone 4 during an epsiode of rage in my car while talking to the office . so for the second time now i have to change my clock but this time i am not willing to pay the 1000 usd invoice .

since it is made out of plastic i wana just replace the plastic part .

i was wondering if any one could help me remove the console so i can get to the clock plastic cover .

thanks guys

Maybe you should skip the fix, leave the plastic off, and spend the $1000 on anger management classes.

Here is a video that shows how to remove the center stack panels. The console on a 07 is a little different but is still very easy to remove.

That looks easy. I wonder if you could put in the '09 style radio console?

interesting, that makes me want to try to fix my sat nav door problem myself. Maybe even swap out the CD changer myself too.

(yes, both have issues at the moment)

Yeah, that does look really easy. Looks easier than removing the rear center console and center console in a 996 or 997. Very cool.

I watched my mechanic flip out the centre console in 20 minutes - - I didn't want the Piano Black the car came with. He made it look so easy, also used a tool that 'seemed' a little more forgiving on the leather.

Be careful when removing the centre console, that it doesn't shred the leather on the sides.

Great idea. Was also thinking I could stick in the factory Ipod converter myself instead of paying the labor.

On a related note... Has anyone painted the whole center console piano black to match the top piece? I am debating it but wanted to see if anyone has done it before. it would make the older center consoles appear much more like the newer ones ... just curious if its been done before.

Thx
