Khalid,
Did you ever get any resolution to this? My newly acquired 06 has damage from an overzealous buffer as well. Did you just buy new headlight units or did you manage to get the covers?

I just bought a new headlight to replace mine that has a damaged motor... From what I can see the clear plastic cover portion has some tabs that when pressed down snap down onto the black plastic bottom piece.

In looking on Ebay for used ones many people mention these tabs being broken in one or two places. I feel that an attempt to separate the clear cover from the lower black part would result in stressing, cracking, and easily breaking the tabs. So my gut feeling after seeing the part is that it's possible but super super sketchy to try. for sure running the likely risk of more permanent damage. My 2 cents.

TKO,
Thanks for the response. I hadn't removed the light pods yet so I wasn't sure what the tabs and retainers looked like nor consisted of. I will keep my eyes peeled for some used units and just deal with the LEDs not working on the passenger side for now. Thanks for responding!

The headlights are sold as a single complete unit I'm afraid, although used ones do pop up on fleabay and the like. Having said that, no doubt someone is currently taking one apart to find a diy solution
