Extended Service Contract

Hi guys, does anyone have a copy, link or pdf of an "Extended service contract" for the V8V? A review of the history on the car I'm interested in shows the engine warning light has come on three times previously. Each time it shows "No issues" and reset. If I bought this car and it needed an O2 sensor or some other emissions item like a catalytic converter would the service contact cover this or is this wear and tear? Do these service contracts have deductibles?

Regards,

Unfortunatly it appears that the Factory "Extended Warranty" is not available in North America--so you would have to find an "After-market" company for the Warranty. Has anyone done that? Here's a list of countries where it is available directly from Aston Martin.

Huh??? I purchased the extended 2 year additional coverage through Aston Martin from my dealer. I don't have a copy of the policy but my recollection is that it covers EVERYTHING but the SatNav.

CEL can be anything from an engine sensor to emissions. repeat CEL is odd if the car is stock. I would be a little worried in buying it. even if you have the warranty and it covers bumper to bumper, your dealer is still unable to fix it. if they were, it would have been fixed after 3 occurrences.

Great info, thanks for the replies. Could driving the car very infrequently cause a CEL? Like 1400 miles per year?

I don't think so. I know low mileage affects driving cycle which fails smog test readiness. But it shouldn't trigger any CEL. Also, you gotta wonder what issues haven't popped up with such low mileage. Cars that sit tend to have issues over time.

I guess Aston distinguishes between an "Extended Service Contract", which is what you may have gotten and an "Extended Warranty", which their web-site says is "Not available in North America". What did yours cost and for how long?

Mine is a $0 deductible 2 year extension of the factory warranty. It covers everything the factory warranty did except the SatNav. I don't recall exactly but I think it cost about $5,400.

CELs are not that unusual, the O2 sensors often seem to need replacing after 4-5 years no matter what the mileage (mine just went after 4 years and 9000 miles) - search here and on the AMOC forums.

What *is* unusual is for the CEL to come on but there be no code, that doesn't make any sense since it's a diagnostic code being thrown that makes the CEL come on in the first place.

Guys, thanks for the replies. I just got my hands an an actual "EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT". I am sorry to report that an ESC is by no means an extension of a bumper to bumper warranty. In fact, there are so many items that are NOT COVERED that I stopped counting when I reached 50 exclusions! FYI Please read your ESC thoroughly.

I think that there were a few versions of the extended warranty that AM was offering. I know that the plan I looked at 12 months before I purchased my extended warranty had many more exclusions. I am 99% certain my plan covers everything but the SatNav.
