The DCT is very quick...but be aware that there are problems. I test drove 2 brand new M3s last month and 1 of the 2 threw a transmission fault code within a few miles of leaving the dealership. Most of the time it works, but they haven't fully ironed out the problems.

Other than that, pretty much narrowed down to the M3 or keeping the S4. Surprised how few M3s there are in the area. Probably why the dealerships are charging 10k premiums on used ones.

ecks - do you have the DCT on your M3, do you like it?

I had the 2010 M3 with DCT for about a 1000 or so miles but then I traded it in for the 6sp version. Nothing wrong with the DCT , I loved it and it performed exceptionally well in Indian driving conditions. But for me , it just took away from the feel of the M3. It felt disconnected from the entire driving experience, so much so that I downgraded to an 08 model with 6sp and have never looked back. The 6sp manual gearbox is a gem even in the most crowded of driving places like Delhi or Bombay.
