Next gen v8 vantage
First refresh was the MY09 upgrades - 4.7 console sport pack etc
As you say the 2nd refresh was MY12 - brakes ASM2 box steering
Even with the new refresh the S is still quiet different you could spec a std car up to it but there would not be a lot in the price ( sport pack clear lights sports exhaust CF spoilers etc)

I was unaware there was any connection between lotus and Mercedes. Aston also uses bonding technology as well so that may still be a possibility.
ASM2 is the new 7 speed gearbox, there is also a new quicker steering rack making it much more "pointy"
Lotus did a lot of development for Aston.
As for the next Vantage, I'd expect a very similar model with incremental changes. As long as Dr. Bez is running the show, there will be no major paradigm shifts. In other words, no forced-induction. It's unfortunate, though, as they need to play catch-up. Hopefully they will at least add direct injection.

Oh ok, makes sense. I still think if they use Mercedes new cylinder deactivation technology in their 5.5l AMG motors they would not need turbos to achieve the efficiencies they are looking for (which would in turn not change the overall NA v8 character of the car.)
Well rumor I heard on the SUV is a merc chassis and engine..also talks of mclaren engine.
For the vantage, only thing I've heard is V8VS becomes the V8V..minus the black intake(sport pack option), exterior looks the same and 7-speed replaces the 6-speed..think the new 2013 is like this..which will come out late this year..think I saw this few weeks ago, the aston site should have it now

Bob: "Why does your Range Rover have an Aston Martin badge on it?"
Larry: "Oh this is my Aston Martin Vantwagon."
Bob: "Isn't it just a Range Rover with an Aston Martin badge?"
Larry: "...yes."
Bob: "Bet it was pricey, though."
Larry: "...yes."
Bob: "Did they at least use the supercharged engine?"
Larry: "...no."
Which SUV are you referring to? I haven't heard any rumors of an Aston Martin SUV and I would be willing to bet that AM doesn't have the resources to develop another model line, especially a completely different class of vehicle like an SUV...think new chassis, AWD system...well come to think of it, everything new. Not gonna happen unless they rebadge someone else's SUV:
Ooooh yeah I actually forgot about that. I'd be pretty surprised if that made it to production...of course not helped by the poor response it received on the auto show circuit.

Though speccing a new model up to S level still costs more than an S
Sort of related: Has anyone heard if the V12V will have the flappy paddles as an option for 2013? I really want one but my wife won't let me get another manual "for that price". I guess I see her point since it's our car
