Ditto. Had this happen quite recently, in fact. Two different salesman at the local Aston Martin/Maserati dealership. One was an egotistical jerk who wouldn't even give me a brochure (and even lied to me by saying they don't exist), and the other was very pleasant and accommodating.

I was looking and looking for a Meteorite Silver (which really is more of a Gray), it's just very rare and hard to find. I ended up with a Tungsten Gray (which is really more of a Silver), still beautiful. It's amazing how these colors do not represent themselves well at all on a standard picture. There was that links few days back with all the colors of the cars, still not very accurate. Tungsten Gray has a dark appeal to it, always lighter on camera. I've seen the Meteorite Silver in person, has green tones and is very dark.

Beautiful car.

a simple way to neogtiate is to tell them 'i don't want to waste your time or mine trying to haggle over a price. I am shopping several vantages right now from dealers and private sales, please give me the best price you can do, and I will tell you if it's competitive'. they'll give you a price, it'll be too high. tell them thank you, and that you'll get back to them once you review the other 'offers'. Whether you do (have other offers) or not, call them back and tell them 'i've found an aston at so and so price point. To be honest, you guys seem more professional and you're closer as well, so if you can match it, I'd like to give my business to you'. They'll either match it, come close, or say no. Repeat with other dealers/private sales until you get a price you like. Don't seem eager, be polite but slightly disinterested...like you don't NEED the car. Good luck man!

At the end of the day, do some negiotiating, but after a while you should weigh time/money and make a decision that works for you.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Heres manheim for you just in case you were curious. Keep in mind manheim is wholesale and you get what you get.

Finally, manheim says wholesale a Vantage coupe with 5500 miles should have been traded or bought by the dealer for about 70, then add in a few bucks for registration/detailing/insurance/etc.

Hope that helps.
Hey CJPatel,

What year/transmission are those auction prices for? I am looking at an '07 Coupe, blue, 6spd, 3800 miles, excellent condition. They're asking $80K. Any opinions on value?

Additionally, I would actually prefer an '09 Coupe 6spd, so if anyone has any leads please contact me.

i am anything but an expert, but 80k for an 07 car is a lot, esp for am which get hit with HUGE depreciation (not hating on am ams are the most beautiful cars imho, but numbers are numbers.)

i would ask for low 70k on that car, or even 60k. its a buyers market right now and there are def good deals to be had on used exotic or sport cars.

I recently paid $62K for my 2007 with 17K miles, but that was from a private seller. Having watched the market for a while, it seems that dealers selling for under $70K sell the cars fast, whereas cars listed for over $75K tend to sit for a long time. For a car with only 3800 miles, aiming in the low to mid 70s would be reasonable.
