Discount on leftover 2010 V8 Vantage Coupe?
If you've read any of my other posts, you've probably realized that I'm in the market for a V8 Vantage coupe. I'm dead-set on a getting a manual tranny coupe, but it seems difficult to find one here in the Southeast US that isn't black.
Until now I've really only been considering pre-owned (due to price), but my local AM dealer told me he can get me a "good chunk of change" off the price of a left-over 2010 coupe. Any ideas as to what kind of percentage he's talking about? The 2011s have been out a while now, so I'm hoping it's quite considerable. I'm also awaiting a response from him, but would like to hear any real-world examples, if possible.
Thanks,

This time last year I was looking for a V8V. I could have bought a couple of new leftover 2009's coupes for $105K. I decided to purchase used for the difference in price and the color that I found. (Pearl White) Good luck.
The MY10 is virtually identical to the MY11, there are no visible differences at all, and no performance differences, so you're getting pretty much the same car whichever you go for.

Yes and no... Speed is unchanged, emissions have been lowered though (means less taxes in Germany for example). Tyre Pressure Unit is different ( displays pressure), N400 sills are standard, etc. Anyways, Banton is right: look further and play the dealers!
I knew there was an emissions reduction, but hadn't realised the significance for tax. Interesting that the tyre pressure unit now displays the pressure, thats a useful feature. When I bought my MY10 there were MY11s at the same price, but nobody could say what differences there were, so I made my choice based on the spec and colours of what was in stock at dealers across the country, ignoring the model year
btw, are the rumors of reliability holding anyone else back? its a HUGE deterant for me.

I picked up a new '10 Vantage late last fall from the infamous (so it seems) dealer in Toronto at a significantly reduced price, similar to Steve's post 2 up, I assume it was for the most part that they did not want to carry the car through the winter months which I was perfectly willing to do...You should see that type of discount at the very least at this point in time. If it is a well optioned car in a decent color etc...they may be a little less inclined to go much extra. The dealers want the '10 cars out of inventory!!!
Make a silly offer, you never know!

Nah. But then again my Maserati GranSport can't exactly be considered "reliable" so it probably isn't that much of a factor for me. It never thoroughly let me down (except for a dead battery on two occasions), but after a few years all the "little" expenses really add up.
Do not be concerned with the location of the vehicle. The extra $ spent on shipping will be well worth it - as you will have the Aston YOU want. Also, even if you just have something against getting a car shipped to you - use it as a negotiating tactic.
My car has been very reliable. I'm very pleased with the build quality, etc. Better than my last Porsche and BMW. I would definately purchase another, and probably will at some point.
