Exhaust/Sport Cats

Just purchased a 2008 4.3 Vantage 6 Speed with Larini Sport Exhaust already installed. The AM Power Upgrade seemed logical as the next step and now i am wondering about sport cats. How much louder will the Larini 200 cell sport cats make it? Does any one know anything about the Aston Martin Sport Exhaust upgrade? Is it available in two parts? Are the cats still 600 cell or 200 cell.

Thanks

I have a 2007 MT coupe with the power pack upgrade and complete Larini system. The exhaust I chose is the most aggressive. It is substantially louder than the stock system. I had the Quick Silver box alone (no cats) and moved to the Larini to get more performance, cut some weight (cats) and gain a bit more volume.

The loudest system is just too much for most people. I love it, but I am in the minority. I suggest one of their more modest systems. Combining all these factors, I believe the car is quicker. I can stay up with the 4.7L guys no problem and it seems seat of the pants faster. However, it may just be that the car "sounds" faster.

Given a choice, I would probably go with the complete RSC system and ECU upgrade. But its too late to change with this car.

Thanks for responding, how much louder is the LARINI box with the sport cats compared to without? I do like the LARINI exhaust as it is on my Vantage. Just wondering how much louder it gets with the 200 cell cats? Do the noise levels vary between the LARINI cats and RSC cats for instance?

+ 1

Talk to Stuart at RSC. The package that he offers is, dollar and performance-wise, the best aftermarket set-up out there. Much lighter, less costly and sounds better than the Larini.

agreed, give stuart a shout. i was worried about the note and he steered me towards the touring system with cats, at idle it is tame as well as pulling into the neighborhood at a low rpm but when you step on it the thing screams and the seat of the pants was great. search my threads, the most recent is for the before and after video so it should give you some idea.

I just had Larini cats installed and I"m waiting for a Miltek exhaust to arrive. The Larini cats are louder than the OEM cats... I think it's just about perfect (makes me wonder if I should have waited on ordering the Miltek. Anyway, in terms of performance, I immediately noticed improvement. Better throttle response, the car accelerates better and the "engine exhale or exhaust" is so much more efficient. I had it up to 140 on the drive home and it was still pulling strong, moreover, every gear pulls stronger than before. The sound is much deeper but in no way too loud. I am very satisfied.
I post back next week with a review of the Miltek exhaust. Cheers.
