Properly packed trunk, and...
...my first track session with the Continental rubber.
Since the last session I switched to Carbotech track pads and from Pirelli to the Conti tyres.
The conti's are more talkative and noisy on the track. They made more noise at edges of traction at speeds that I was frankly surprised at, i.e. low! Distinctly possible that it was the nut behind the wheel, but doing 40 at the really slow part of the track?
One session was in a fairly good bit of rain and the conti's did quite well actually. One of my friends in a supercharged Elise (400 HP!) who had been running away from me all day commented on how hard it was for him to drive on a wet track and see my just blow by (I was pushing maybe 6-7/10).

I tracked my car at an Audi event last Friday and I found it fast and quiet around the corners. Perhaps your alignment is off. (07 AMV8, Goodwood Green, Larini sport cats, Miltek rear box).
The local gang is having a Lotus get together and one of them has the caliper/strings rigging for doing alignments that many of us use during races/track days. I am amazed at how accurate that rigging is and how widespread it's use is becoming. Frankly I think it boils down the end user crowd being more in tune with the after effects of alignment and behavior of cars like this.
So my plan has been to do that. But I also fully realize that I took a step downward going to the Conit's from the Pirellis. But the price point, and the fact that it is not a primary track vehicle, made a big difference.
The big surprise was driving the session when it rained. Started slow and stead, enough to trigger the through process of 'slow down' and once I got more confident in how the car would behave I settled down mentally and kept driving. But man hitting the marbles....yikes, slick as snot during the rain. Made the rear end very twitchy in a 'holy F' kind of a way.
